A visit to the division leaders at Lea Club in Preston this week. It was always going to be a tough game against opposition such as this and that's how it turned out when we lost 4-3. We did not however, disgrace ourselves as the games we lost were all close run things and it could have just as easily have gone our way. The night did however turn into a success when the captain managed to take the money from the game of killer back at the tute !
A home match this week against the Derby from Inskip. It was a really tough match where we went into a 2-0 lead only for the Derby to come straight back to level it 2-2. After the food break Damien had an uncharacteristically bad game but still managed to win, "Winning ugly" to steal a football metaphor but also the sign of a good player. Next came Neil and after a really tough game that went on for over 40 minutes he managed to clinch the match in our favour. Heather got close to making it 5-2 but was unlucky
Away at the Wellington in Preston for the first match of the New Year with optimism in the team because we are sitting in 4th place at the half way stage. The Wellington is a first rate venue and the team are a great bunch of lads and we always enjoy going there as it is usually a close game. Last night was no exception with every game going to the wire but unfortunately we were not the ones who won. The 5-2 score line flattered the "Welly" boys a bit but an enjoyable night anyway.
